Prayer Before Visit

ETERNAL REST GIVE UNTO THEM, O LORD, AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM, MAY THEY REST IN PEACE.

My Lord Jesus Christ, because of the love you have for men you remain night and day in this Sacrament: full of pity and of love, you expect, invite and welcome all who come to visit you. I adore you from the depths of my nothingness; I thank you for having given me so many graces, especially for giving me yourself in this Sacrament, for giving me your Most Holy Mother Mary to be my advocate, and for inviting me to visit you in this church.

Now I greet your most loving heart and I wish to honor it for three ends―the first, to thank you for this great gift: the second, to make reparation for all the injuries you have received from all your enemies in this Sacrament; the third, while making this visit I want to adore you in every place on earth where your Sacramental Presence is least revered and most forsaken.

My Jesus, I love you with all my heart; I am sorry that I have offended your infinite goodness so many times in the past; I resolve with the help of your grace not to offend you any more in the future; for the present, though I am so poor and wretched, I consecrate myself completely to you. I give you and renounce my own will, its affections and desires and everything that is mine. From this time forward do entirely as you please with me and with all that I possess.  This is all I ask of you and desire―your holy love, final perseverance and the perfect fulfillment of your will. I beg your mercy for the souls in Purgatory, but especially for those most devoted to the Most Holy Sacrament and to Most Holy Mary; I also recommend to your mercy all poor sinners. In conclusion, my dear Savior, I unite all my affections with the affections of your most loving Heart; thus united I offer them to your Eternal Father; in your name and for your love I beg Him to accept and to satisfy them. Amen.

This is my hope. So let it be.
